In the past, Troye Sivan has showed love to singer Alessia Cara by doing a cover of her breakout hit “Here” this past spring, and now the Canadian artist is returning the favor.
The two stars have teamed up for a slightly brighter version of Sivan’s 2015 single “Wild” off his debut Blue Neighborhood album.
The new reimaged remix, released on June 23, has been retitled “WILD,” and was premiered on Elvis Duran‘s Z100 radio show on Thursday.
Cara provides a beautiful reworking of the second verse with a hopeful and heartfelt messaged to a lover. “We were like you and I / so blue hearts locked in our wrong minds / So, can we make the most out of no time / Can you hold me / Can you make me leave my demons and my broke pieces behind.” She then provides sweet backing harmonies and sultry runs as Troye brings the song to a close.
The “Youth” Australian singer will embark on the second North American leg of his global Suburbia Tour beginning on October 16, performing at venues like the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles and Terminal 5 in New York City.
A cut of ticket sales will go towards The Ally Coalition, which supports LGBTQ+ causes and fights against discrimination of sexuality through education, advocacy, and awareness.
The acommpanying music video to “WILD,” shot recently by the two singers, will be announced soon so look out for the announcement! In the meantime, listen to to Alessia Cara’s vocals bring a fresh twist to the track down below.
