Francesco Yates landed a huge smash hit at the end of 2015 as the singer of Robin Schulz’s “Sugar.” A rework of Baby Bash and Frankie J’s classic 2003 track “Suga Suga,” the jamming dance anthem went top 10 in over 15 countries and just debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 at #87.

The 20-year-old has now delivered an amazing acoustic version of the song, which sounds just as good and catchy on a guitar.

The Canadian singer-songwriter explained, “‘Sugar’ is a feel-good song that really makes people come alive. Lyrically, our version of the song is about the allure of a woman and becoming infatuated with everything about her. It’s almost that love sick feeling you have when you first meet someone, and can’t seem to get enough of them.”

He first began experimenting with an acoustic interpretation of the song before a music festival. “I was learning the song in my basement on guitar before heading to play it live for the first time with Robin Schulz at Electric Zoo on New York and decided to record an acoustic version of it,” he revealed. “It’s the raw version of the song, but still just as sweet.”
