5 Seconds of Summer have finally started the North American leg of their world tour on July 17 in Las Vegas.

To celebrate the momentous occasion, the punkers performed their brand new single “She’s Kinda Hot” live for the very first time. The crowd went wild, especially when drummer Ashton Irwin sang his solo.

With its “desert cowboy riff” and the thoughtful tone in their voices, the track is reminiscent of Puddle of Mudd’s 2002 hit “She Hates Me.” But 5SOS quickly declare themselves (and of course, their fans) “kings and queens of the new broken scene”–thus ending on a more upbeat note than when they started.
